This morning I had booked a snowshoeing activity – we went up in the Whistler gondola and then to a trail – it was actually a mountain biking trail – just beautiful walking through the trees! Surprisingly easy to walk – the shoes have crampons underneath to grip.

Meanwhile, Cate, Nigel and Nick had skied over to Crystal Hut- famous for their waffles!

Once we finished, I walked back to the villa – no mean feat as it involved walking up the ski slope! – to get my skis and then we all met up at our favourite cafe down the bottom for lunch – great flatbreads, burgers, wraps and salads.
We then went separate ways – nick and Ann to the villa, Cate and Nigel for hard runs and me to the top of Blackcomb for one final ski.
That night we walked down (well actually the others tried tobogganing down – Nigel and Annie too fast resulting in snow all over Annie : she was NOT impressed!!) to the Fairmont Hotel (just at the bottom of the ski slope) for a drink (beautiful bar) and decided to have dinner there as well.
